Williams Law, LLC is owned and operated by Julia C. Williams, who focuses her practice on contested litigation matters and represents clients in both state and federal courts. Her broad practice includes all probate matters, dissolution of marriage or civil union, spousal support, maintenance, custody, child support, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, paternity, guardianships and modification of divorce decrees.
Ms. Williams’ business practice experience includes numerous consumer matters such as mortgage fraud, fraud in the sale of educational services, business contract disputes including a settlement with a Fortune 500 company that permitted the corporations involved to maintain their business relationship, and business litigation including the dismissal of claims against individual shareholders of a corporation. She also has experience with class action litigation, legal malpractice and attorney fees disputes, and insurance coverage matters.
Outside of her private practice, Ms. Williams has represented low-income clients in probate matters as a volunteer attorney for Chicago Volunteer Legal Services. In addition, as Co-Chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division Public Outreach Committee, she headed up the Serving Our Seniors initiative, which provides basic estate planning services to low-income seniors in conjunction with the Center for Disability and Elder Law.
Every year since 2014, Super Lawyers magazine has named Ms. Williams as one of their ‘Rising Stars‘ in business litigation for the state of Illinois. In June 2013, she received the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois Service Award for her leadership as part of the organization’s Community Outreach Committee.
